Loops

The brainchild of prodigious jazz wunderkind, Jonathan Dimond, Loops was established in 1995 as an exploratory mission into the counterpoint between composition and improvisation. Giving form and structure to otherwise unimpeded freeform expression Loops’ music fills that rare space between traditional jazz and freestyle improvisation. Originally made up of Dimond on electric bass and tabla, Jamie Clark on electric guitar, John Rodgers on violin and Ken Edie on drums, the group has continued on in several incarnations since its inception, always helmed by Dimond. Under his guiding hand, Loops Contemporary Ensemble has persistently challenged and redefined preconceived notions of jazz.
