Evolutionary Vibes Vol. II 'The Evolution Continues'

This second volume of the Evolutionary Vibes collection picks up where ‘The Endless Search For The Perfect Beat’ left off.

Where Volume I exuded an air of easy-going, late-night cool, ‘The Evolution Continues’ delves into the darker realms of electronica. Boasting 28 tracks over two CDs, this album is not so much a journey as it is an outer body, astral trip accompanied by a consciousness-altering soundtrack.

Opening track, ‘Heavy’ by Quoyle begins innocently enough before blasting into the sonic unknown with deep, modulated synth and haunting vocal samples. From there it’s a long and strange venture through layered soundscapes of trip hop, jazz fusion, minimal and experimental forms, created by innovators of Australian electronic music.

Artists from Volume I such as Trapezoid, Obleak and DJ Soup return to offer their legendary contributions to the evolutionary process. This album also features more hip hop, including the space-fuelled drama of ‘Dead Planet’ by Sonik Professa, as well as the rapper born of hellfire, Sleek The Elite busting out ‘Freak Of Nature’.

From first track to last, this is evolution on a scale that would shock Darwin himself.
