Alan Brown is an accomplished jazz pianist from New Zealand who rose to prominence during the ‘90s playing in jazz-funk combo, Blue Train as well as being a key member of The Grand Central Band.


As leader of his own group, the Alan Brown Trio he indulged his love for the dulcet-tones of the Hammond organ, and has also released an album of minimalist electronic under the pseudonym, Mistake Theory.


Working across multiple genres, Alan is an active contributor to the expanding jazz scene in his home country. He still performs both as a solo artist and in several groups, as well as working regularly with artists such as Cherie Mathieson, Nathan Haines and Caitlin Smith
